Calgary International Airport (YYC)
Calgary International Airport is the airport to use if you plan on starting your Lake Louise vacation in the Lake Louise area.
When coming to the Canadian Rockies, you have a number of airport alternatives. If you are planning on kicking off your Rockies vacation in Banff and Lake Louise, then the Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the most accessible airport for you. The Calgary International Airport is located in Calgary, Alberta and is the gateway to the Banff , Lake Louise and Canmore area. This is one of the most simple and pleasant airports in Canada.
The Banff town site is located 120km (or 75 miles) west of Calgary city limits and is easily accessible from the all-weather, four lane Trans Canada Highway 1. Lake Louise is located 58km (or 35 miles) west of Banff. Shuttles to and from the Calgary International Airport are available to both Banff and Lake Louise.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
Many travelers start their vacations by going to Vancouver first. This is a great idea if you are looking to enjoy a very temperate city with lots of great restaurants, attractions and nightlife. There are few cities in Canada that have the rich cultural opportunities that Vancouver has.
Use the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) if your vacation starts or ends in Vancouver or Whistler. Located in Richmond, British Columbia, YVR is the second busiest airport in Canada and provides easy access to Vancouver and its surrounding areas. YVR is located approximately 30 minutes south of Vancouver. Airport shuttles into downtown Vancouver are easily accessible from the airport and shuttles are available from most downtown Vancouver hotels to the airport for your departure.
Starting your vacation in Jasper
Edmonton International Airport
The Edmonton International Airport is the airport you should use if you plan on starting your vacation in Jasper. The Edmonton International Airport in Edmonton, Alberta is located 362km (or 220 miles) east of Jasper, approximately 3 ½ hours driving time. There are several rental car counters for pick-up and drop off at the Edmonton International Airport if you choose to rent a car for this drive.
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
Some travelers choose to start their Canadian Rockies vacations by coming to Toronto first. That’s fine, but you are a long ways away from the Canadian Rockies. If you go this route, then book your flights to arrive or depart the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Located in Toronto, Ontario, Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada’s largest and busiest airport. It serves Southern Ontario and acts as a major gateway to North Eastern Canada and United States. Shuttle services and taxis are available from the airport to downtown Toronto.
Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)
If your Trans Canada adventure begins or ends in Halifax, the Halifax Stanfield International Airport would be the most accessible airport for you. Halifax Stanfield International Airport is located in Enfield, Nova Scotia, approximately 35km or 22mi from downtown Halifax (Approximately 35 minutes driving time). Shuttle and taxi services are available at this airport.
