Cathedral Mountain Lodge – Spring into the Rockies
Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Alberta.
It’s a tough job checking out the best lodging in the extraordinary setting of the Canadian Rockies, but someone has to do it. The slow realization that the snow is beginning to leave us as spring comes in has had some ski bums in tears on the ground listening to their favorite Cher album (she’s underrated). However, located only a 15-minute drive from stunning Lake Louise is Cathedral Mountain Lodge, and they are ready to celebrate spring.
After its season opening on May 16th, the lodge is offering a special. Stay for three nights, and you only pay for two ($185 per night). Also, nobody loves their environment more than this Mountain Man. When I am not staying in these beautiful hotels, I call the environment my home. At Cathedral Mountain Lodge, they will be partnering with the Burgess Shale Foundation for a series of talks by well-known scientists about climate change.
There will also be some great weekend getaway options to please your significant others who keep asking you over and over to bring them to a beautiful hotel. In conjunction with BC vintners, there will also be some great cuisine, wine and chances to learn more about the wine. If nothing else, it is a great opportunity to pretend to learn while drinking great wine!
