It’s summertime in Alberta, Canada, which means it is a great time to pack up the car and take a road trip through the unmatched scenery of Canadian Rockies. Drive between towering mountain spires, alongside emerald lakes, across sweeping pairies and through charming villages and towns. Canada’s Rocky Mountains combine the best scenery with outstanding accommodations and an unending supply of recreational activities. Here are a couple road trips recommended by the mountain man.
The Trans-Canada Highway is a great starting point for any Canadian Rockies road trip. Not only is this highway one of the most scenic in the world, it also gives you great jumping off points for hiking, fishing, mountain biking and exploration. Some of the most popular towns such as Banff and Jasper, ar easily accessed by using the Trans-Canada Highway.
Travel between two classic Canadian cities, Edmonton and Calgary, on the Icefields Parkway. Not only will the scenery blow you away, but you’ll have the chance to stop at the Columbia Icefields for an excursion onto the glacier.
Of course, if you aren’t much of a driver – like me – you can still participate in the summer road trip fever. Sundog tours provides transportation to all of the Canadian Rockies must-see attractions. Sit back, relax and one of their qualified and experienced drivers do the driving on a guided tour so you can enjoy the scenery.
