Discover the Iceline Trail in Yoho National Park
If you had to choose an easy yet beautiful hike to do in the Canadian Rockies, I would recommend the Iceline Trail. It is one of the most spectacular hikes Yoho National Park, or in all of the Canadian Rockies. Hikers seeking more of a challenge should check out Jasper adventure tours.
The sights are spectacular; much like the Columbia Icefields, it is renowned for the stunning glacial views. I would like to mention that Tikakafal will be your first point of interest near the beginning of your journey. The elevation gain of the Iceline Trail is 700 metres. It is a hike that can be done in one full day. Camping sites and Stanley Hut are both available by reservation only through The Alpine Club of Canada.
Personally, I have been to the Iceline Trail many times. The popularity of this trail brings with it a sense of security and it is well maintained by Parks Canada. Traveling in The Canadian Rockies by foot can be a great way to discover the nature in this part of the country. After you’re finished, you may even want to try rafting one of Alberta’s rivers, like the Kananaskis River.
