Rafting Banff with Wild Water Adventures
Banff National Park, Alberta
One of the most popular activities to do in the Canadian Rockies is white-water rafting so it is no surprise that people who come to visit Banff National Park immediately want to ‘test the waters’. There are several companies that run different trips near Banff but one with an enviable reputation is Wild Water Adventures. They do day trips and multi-day rafting tours that cater for all whether it is a family, honeymooning couple, stag party or corporate do. They are also exclusively licensed to raft in Yoho National Park.
Starting in mid May and finishing in m id-September, the rafting trips depart daily from Banff and Lake Louise. The newly built “River Base” day lodge is a really comfortable, warm base to stay when you are doing a multi-day trip. Aside from the actual trip, Wild Water Adventures also provide quality equipment, plentiful gear and some truly delicious food. The booking office is based in the gorgeous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise should you wish to speak face to face with one of the friendly and ever-helpful staff.
There are other great rafting companies such as Chinook and Wakpa who take you down other popular rivers such as the Kananaskis River and the Horseshoe Canyon section of the Bow River and the Highwood River. There are few better ways to see the sights and wildlife of the Canadian Rockies than with the adrenalin pumping as you float downriver!
