Summer BBQ’s in Banff National Park
Banff National Park, Alberta
I always thought it was unfair that the animals are free to roam around Banff National Park eating wherever they like at one with nature. Well, as it turns out Banff National Park is pretty much the perfect place in the world for a picnic or a BBQ. It is no surprise that with the stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, fresh, mountain air to make you even hungrier and some of the most relaxed people in the world – you are going to remember your BBQ in Banff.
The best place hands down is slightly hidden away and during summer, you will find mostly locals hanging around. It is on the Cave Avenue side of the Bow River hidden between the bike track and the tennis courts. There is a big pagoda with enough benches to fit about 25 people. This pagoda can be booked so if you are the organised type, you can reserve it through the Banff town council. Technically a liquor license is needed too. Technically.
The BBQ here is actually more like a massive grill and you can cook for huge amounts of people. As the summer nights get longer and warmer in Banff, it becomes even more pleasant to hang around here. This is the perfect place to start your night in Banff whether it be with your family or just a big bunch of friends. To get there, cross the Bow River Bridge and take a right, follow the river and eventually you will see it on your left within view of the tennis court. Now all that remains is to enjoy the food!
